Join in to hear Ferin discuss reciprocal restoration and examples of how to incorporate this into prairie reconstructions. We will also discuss how the reconstruction of prairies fosters cultural revitalization within the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community. This includes using PRI’s vegetation monitoring protocols, collecting quantitative prescribed fire data with DIY thermocouple monitors to inform decision making and reconnecting with cultural burning practices to work towards holistic land stewardship.
